The kids at youth marketing and communications agency, taboo, asked us to build the cornerstone of their new marketing campaign for iriver. A competition to discover the next batch of budding video music directors and musicians. The winners of which will be used to promote the launch of iriver's new e100.
Backed by a nationwide media campaign, the competiton website allows contestants to submit a video or audio entry to the site. Anyone with an internet connection can submit an entry from their desktop or laptop. Users on the site can then interact with the e100 to view the all the video or audio entries. They can also post comments, email to a friend, rate the entry and post to facebook.
To do all of this C2 built the video platform and all of the functionality to allow videos to be uploaded and then compressed server side, ready for streaming over the web. Next step was to make the brilliant design come to life and plug it into a CMS. The CMS allows the guys at Taboo and iRiver to track and manage all entries.
